Let me introduce to….songs Made in France

Yeah it’s true, France is more renown for cheese and wine than for the quality of its music. In fact, when it comes to music, France has probably more to learn from its best enemy across the channel than the opposite, and history shows that artists travel more often from Dover to Calais to find an eager audience.

But, but, but even though there might be a language issue here illustrated below in the song Vocab by Hocus Pocus (ft The Procusssions), there is definitely no lack of talent.

French music has a tradition of openness, keeping an ear to sounds from all over the world with its labels signing major artists from all over the globe. That’s the case of Keziah JonesCunnie WilliamsAsaPatriceAyo and many more.

This mixity in turn influences its local artists and results in a very wide range of styles.

French Touch (french electronic music) with the likes of Daft PunkJusticePhoenix or the amazing compilations by the label Maison Kitsune have already managed to break through as far as the States, and the language they use (English) is probably one of the reasons to that. That’s great but there is more to discover. Honestly, French artists deserve to be discovered in the UK, oh yeah charm can be exported over here so let me be your guide to French songs of today, yesterday and tomorrow. The goal of this website is to bring you quality music, or what you would call “coups de coeur” in French, not the Top of the pops. Hopefully, you will enjoy the experience and come back for more soon. Now, Ladies and Gents follow me!

For a smooth start
